What is Video and Audio Capture?
Capturing video and audio and saving them as digital format files is called "video and audio capture." Video capture devices are categorized into software compression (soft compression) and hardware compression (hard compression). Soft compression relies entirely on the computer's CPU for processing, whereas hard compression utilizes a built-in core chip for computation, significantly reducing CPU usage and improving capture performance. Desktop computers can use software compression capture cards, while laptops can use USB-based software compression capture devices. For standalone operation without a computer, hardware compression standalone recording devices are recommended.

The USB Capture SDI Plus can capture SD/HD/3G-A/3G-B/2K SDI signals from various devices, such as HD cameras (professional cameras, surveillance cameras, conference cameras) and switchers. The device supports input resolutions and frame rates up to 2048×1080p@60fps and can transmit this resolution to a computer.

Multi-Device Support on a Single Computer
The number of USB Capture Plus devices that can be connected to a single computer depends on the number of USB 3.0 controller chips available. However, if multiple devices are connected to the same USB 3.0 controller, bandwidth sharing may cause unstable audio/video transmission or signal loss. It is recommended to connect only one USB Capture Plus per USB 3.0 controller. For example, a 2-port USB 3.0 controller card has two USB ports that can connect to two USB devices. However, it is recommended to connect only one USB Capture Plus. To connect multiple USB Capture Plus devices, multiple USB 3.0 controller cards are required.
