This HDMI over Cat.5e/6/7 transmitter and receiver kit is an excellent solution for extending uncompressed high-definition audio and video, as well as Ethernet and control, over a single Cat.5e/6/7 cable up to 100 meters. It provides multiple data and control interfaces, including IR, RS-232, and LAN connections.

This extender kit complies with advanced HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 standards and supports legacy HDCP 1.x and HDMI 1.x standards. Despite the 10Gbps bandwidth limitation of HDBaseT, 4K UHD HDMI video, including 4K@60Hz (4:4:4), can be processed and extended by subsampling the 4:4:4 color to 4:2:0 and reducing the bit depth when necessary.

In addition to video, data, and control, these units also feature useful audio functions. The Optical Audio Return (OAR) function supports the transmission of optical audio from the receiver side to the transmitter side for local playback. Also included is an audio insertion function, allowing stereo analog audio to be embedded into the HDMI output signal. Completing the feature set is robust EDID management, along with automatic HDBaseT clock extension and TMDS re-clocking support. The receiver (PD) is powered by 48V PoH provided by the transmitter (PSE), offering greater flexibility in different installation scenarios.

What is HDBaseT

HDBaseT brings revolutionary changes to the audiovisual market. Compared to existing solutions, HDBaseT offers richer features, longer transmission distances, and better performance. At its core, HDBaseT uses a single 100-meter/328-foot standard network cable to transmit uncompressed ultra-high-definition audio and video, Ethernet, control signals, USB 2.0, and up to 100W of power, known as 5Play™ technology.

DC 48V: Insert the 48V DC power adapter into this port and connect it to an AC power outlet for power supply.
POWER LED: This LED indicator lights up to show that the unit is powered on and receiving power.
AUDIO OUT L/R: Connect to speakers or an amplifier for stereo analog audio output.
OPT OUT: Connect to speakers or an amplifier.
IR IN 2: Connect to the provided IR extender to extend the IR control range for remote devices.
IR OUT 1: Connect to the provided IR Blaster to transmit IR signals to devices within the IR Blaster's direct line of sight.
SERVICE: Used for updates and EDID uploads.
RS-232: Connect to a PC, laptop, or other serial control devices.
3-Pin: Used to extend RS-232 signals to the receiver.
Note: Depending on the controlled device connected to the receiver side, the Tx and Rx pins may need to be swapped.
UPDATE: For normal operation, this switch should be set to "ON".

LAN: Connect to an Ethernet device or a local network to extend network connectivity across both HDBaseT-connected units.
HDMI IN: Connect to an HDMI source device, such as a media player, gaming console, or set-top box.
AUDIO IN EXT/INT: Controls the audio source output for HDBaseT.
Select "Int" to use the original audio from the HDMI input.
Select "Ext" to embed analog audio from the Audio In connection to the Tx.
AUDIO IN L/R: Connect to the stereo analog output of devices such as a CD player or PC.
CAT5e/6/7 OUT: Connect to a compatible HDBaseT receiver via a single Cat.5e/6/7 cable for transmitting all data signals and power.

1. Purpose of Data Collection
