USB Capture AIO USB 3.0 Video Capture Device

Universal HD/SD Signal Input

What is Video and Audio Capture?
Video and audio capture refers to the process of recording video and audio and saving them as digital format files. Capture devices are categorized into software compression (soft compression) and hardware compression (hard compression). Soft compression products rely entirely on the computer’s CPU for processing, whereas hard compression devices use built-in chips to handle processing, significantly reducing CPU usage and improving capture quality. Desktop computers can use software compression capture cards, while laptops can use USB-based software compression capture devices. For independent operation without a computer, hardware compression standalone recording products are available.

USB 3.0 Port

The USB Capture AIO utilizes a USB 3.0 port for ultra-high-speed transmission, drawing power directly from the computer without requiring an external power adapter, ensuring excellent portability. Users can capture uncompressed 1080HD video at the highest quality using portable devices. On Intel native USB 3.0 chipsets, data transmission performance is approximately 50% higher than that of PCI-Express x1 GEN 1.1 ports, achieving up to 1080p60. The USB Capture AIO can be used with USB 2.0 via an adapter or connected via PCI Express to expand USB 3.0 ports.

Bundled Software

The USB Capture Utility enhances the functionality of the capture device, offering advanced features such as resolution and frame rate settings, video color adjustments, vertical/horizontal flipping, and EDID information retrieval.

Universal HD/SD Signal Input

The USB Capture AIO allows users to capture various HD and SD video signals, including SDI signals (3G/HD/SD-SDI), enabling connection to any SDI device. It also supports high-definition digital inputs such as DVI and HDMI, as well as analog HD signals like VGA and YPbPr. Additionally, it can capture SD video signals via S-Video and CVBS. With USB Capture AIO, users can capture signals from multiple devices without limitations on signal type.

Professional Video Processing

The USB Capture AIO offers high-quality video scaling, cropping, color space conversion, gamma correction, DMA transmission, and other advanced features. It automatically removes black borders, allows manual adjustment of active video areas, detects interlaced video sources, and applies deinterlacing to eliminate jagged edges, delivering professional-grade results.

High-Quality Audio-Visual Experience

The USB Capture AIO captures and plays uncompressed HD and SD video, ensuring more vivid and realistic colors. It employs high-speed, large-capacity video buffering technology to prevent screen tearing and achieves high sharpness and detail while reducing color fringing. Audio capture supports arbitrary sample rate conversion (ASRC), downmixing, and audio mixing, providing an exceptional multimedia experience.

Flexible Multi-Channel Capture

The Simultaneous Streaming feature allows multiple applications to capture simultaneously without frame loss. Different applications can use different capture formats, enabling the same signal source to be processed into multiple formats, sample rates, and resolutions in real time, reducing overall hardware costs.

Standard Development Interface for Software Compatibility

The device features standard development interfaces, including DirectShow Filter-based video/audio capture, DirectSound-based audio capture, and IKsPropertySet-based extended interfaces. It is compatible with Microsoft AVStream drivers and various software applications such as Windows Media Encoder, Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, Real Producer Plus, and VideoLAN for Windows.

7 x 24 hours Continuous Operation

All components, including chips and capacitors, are of high quality, ensuring superior signal performance. The device is designed with an 8-layer PCB for enhanced signal quality and can operate under full load continuously for 7x24h usage while supporting power management.

Hardware “Soft Upgrade”

With Magewell’s proprietary video processing engine, the device offers high flexibility. Firmware and driver updates enable functionality upgrades without replacing hardware components, significantly reducing maintenance costs while ensuring long-term performance enhancements.

Support for Multiple Simultaneous Captures on a Single Computer

Using the USB Capture Utility, the device can be configured to display its serial number as its device name in the system. The number of USB Capture AIO devices that can be connected to a single computer depends on the number of USB 3.0 controllers available. If multiple devices are connected to a single USB 3.0 controller, USB bandwidth may be shared, leading to unstable video/audio transmission or no signal. It is recommended to connect only one USB Capture AIO per USB 3.0 controller.
For example, on a 2-port USB 3.0 controller card, while two USB devices can be connected, only one USB Capture AIO should be used. If multiple USB Capture AIO devices need to be connected, additional USB 3.0 controller cards are required.

SDK

The USB Capture SDK provides functions to monitor signal status and configure capture options.

Firmware Upgrade

Multiple cards in the same system can be upgraded simultaneously.

LED Indicator

The LED status lights indicate each channel's working status: idle, input signal locked, memory error, or FPGA configuration error.
